Super Update!!

A lot to talk about, I want to get through it but I want to make sure I'm clear.

First off, I want to thank you guys for all of the feedback that I received from the new video. The video that you've seen will be part of a lengthier 'music video short film' if you will.. The full video will be available on the album version of Professional.

Which brings me to my next topic..

Professional is a project that I've worked really hard on from scratch and I have been torn between whether or not I should charge for it.. 

SOO...

I decided: I'll drop a mixtape version of the project on DatPiff, Hotnewhiphop, and numerous other mixtape websites for free on December 20th. 

A few weeks later I'm planning on releasing an album version of the project with the entire Professional music video/short film included in the download, as well as a few bonus tracks.

The album should be reasonably cheap so the support would be much appreciated.. I mean, at least listen to the mixtape and leave me some feedback haha

Moving on.

Generation 28. 

You may have seen the logo in beginning of the video along with Tomorrows Classics'.

I'll explain exactly what it all means in more detail in another post, but all you have to know right now is that

Most of you may not even know I have a website. Well I do, and I have just recently redone it. Right now its whole purpose is to let the fans know if anything Professional-related is released.

If you like to just read the blog, go right ahead :), but if you just want to know if anything new has been released in regards to the Professional album, you can check the site out.

Figure I'd make it a little easier on you guys.

There will be WAAAY more content and links added to the website, I just want to make sure you guys are able to stay connected for now.

Speaking of connected, the 'Connect' link is dead as of now, but it will provide all of the links to other social media sites and other ways to say up to date.

100+ Blog Posts!

This post is actually #102 but none the less we hit 100!

So basically it's all systems go from this point until the release of Professional. Since I am finally where I want to be with my material, I can put my focus back on the media.

So I'll make you a deal...

Because I'm going to be doing a tun of music related things in the coming weeks, I'll update the blog AT LEAST every Saturday and let you know what has been going on since the last post. So you guys will have something on the blog to look forward to at least once a week. If I have any other announcements during the week that can't wait until the weekend I'll post those whenever necessary, (most likely around Wednesdays) but regardless, you can expect an update by the end of every Saturday.

So since we last spoke, I've been working on some music videos and what not. Shout out to DJ Magic (@DJMagic954) and the rest of the video crew that is involved, for making Professional quality material. You guys may think you are ready, but you have no idea what's changed since my last project.

Expect a release date for Professional by next week!

And even more music after that..

Going to start performing again, and music videos are coming; so I'd start following the YouTube page (www.youtube.com/YoungManik) if you haven't already because there are going to be a lot of video's on it soon.

"Professional" confirmed

Professional is the project that sets my own personal bar. Each original project that I release (projects where I write and produce the whole thing) will be as good as, if not better than, the Professional album; which in my opinion is properly named. As I've said before, the release of my future projects will not to take nearly as long. This project in particular meant a lot to me so it took me awhile to get it right.

There was originally going to be 17 tracks but I kinda took 7 of them off.. I decided to make the album more personal and took all the flashy swaggish tracks off. But the tracks on it are beautiful. I'd rather give you guys quality over quantity. Don't worry though! You guys will still get to hear the other tracks I'm just putting them on more appropriate projects.

Expect a post every Saturday at least.

You should be able to hear the first single soon. It's dope. 

Professional will be available as a free download on my BandCamp page when it is released. The release date will be announced soon. It is finished though.

Sorry! Back though.

Sorry sorry sorry, I know I'm extremely behind with the blogs and I know everyone is wondering what is up.

I'm in the middle of working on Paradise for those of you who remember me mentioning that project awhile back so I can't talk for too long.

Professional is done and you guys will hear the first single for it soon. The sooner I can finish the video for it, the sooner it will be released. It's sooooooo awesome. It really has a different feel then anything I've ever heard. The Young Manik section of your library will stay on shuffle from this project on. The music is quality. You will see.

The project is titled "Professional". It will be my second all-original project. This means I've written, produced, and engineered the entire project by myself from start to finish. It took me a little longer than I expected but I got the photo shoot done. And yes! I cut my hair, I'm probably going to grow it out again though..

I told you I'd be back

So let me tell you about how I hopped out my car last night in the rain, not knowing my iPhone was on my lap, and sprinted towards the building in an effort to escape the storm, only to leave my iPhone facing up in a public parking lot in the pouring rain for the next 3 hours.. I get back to my car and come to find that not only did it NOT get stolen, it still works perfectly. Can you believe it?!? :D

Anyway, lets get to the blog.

I should be getting into a photo-shoot soon; likely sometime later this week so I can start getting things rolling for the release of this project.

I'm going to drop my first single sometime in early may..
Oh I need to find a female to model for me in a music video for a day for some $$. N I need a female for a photoshoot (separate from the music video).

Starting with this project (formerly known as spotlight) my music is going to sound a lot more unorthodox. But I like it. It's more on the musical side of "weird" than on the "crazy sounds" side if that makes sense..
This project is going to be extremely different than any mixtape you've ever heard. That's why I can't call it a mixtape. I love the project though.. I'm not trying to be different when I make the tracks.. It's just how I'd like the song to sound. It's definitely a breath of fresh air though. There's a hint of normality in a lot of the songs, some tracks have the feel of a mainstream song but the project is far from it. The project is going to be lyrical but not wordy, and the beats tend to differ in theme...

But keep in mind, I produced all of the beats. :). I dunno.. I love em.. There super left field and extremely different but I can still vibe to them.

Once I mix n master the tracks how I want, then we can talk about a release date, but expect it to be sometime early summer..
I'm really excited for this project guys.. This is the one I'm going to perform.

Speaking of..

I need to start planing tour dates..

I should be back in a few days to talk about the photo shoot and what not..

It's official now

Spotlight is done being written.
The Spotlight project will be renamed.
There will be a new cover photo for the project.
Aprox 17 tracks.

Late Night Vibe

I doubt many people are going to read this but I like writing so I'm going to blog anyway.

I realized I have a lot of true hardcore fans that rock with most (if not all) of the music I drop.

Thank you to everyone who supports me.

I try as hard as I can to bring you quality when it comes to providing you with original music. I have extremely high expectations for my music, and my fans deserve nothing less. Whether it be through music, videos, performances, or anything else for that matter – you can expect strictly excellence and professionalism from here on out.

Yea, thats it; a lifestyle sounds kinda right.


A lifestyle to be a part of and represent.

But in order to be a part of it, we cannot be willing to accept anything less than the highest of quality. To understand this lifestyle is to understand that anyone and everyone in it is an expert at – or at the very least, truly dedicated to – their craft whether it be sports, business, media, or any other profession.
